Design Indaba
As South Africa’s premier design industry event, the Design Indaba is supported by the local and global marketing and creative community. Initially established in 1995, the Design Indaba has grown exponentially over the last few years, and attracts high profile of international speakers and delegates.
As a sponsor of the Design Indaba, Absa is proud to be associated with an event that is centred on bringing international thought leadership into South Africa, and that encourages economic growth and development in the country as a whole.
The fundamental belief of the Design Indaba is that creativity will fuel economic revolution in South Africa, and it seems to be achieving this goal year on year.
An independent economic impact assessment found that the 2010 Design Indaba contributed R232 million to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) – which is up from R191 million in 2009, and sustained or created a total of 956 full-time job opportunities. We look forward to watching these figures grow in the future as the Design Indaba continues to innovate.
