  • Log in to Absa Online

    1. Click Log in from the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click Next
    3. Enter your access account number, PIN & user number (Note that the default user number is 1. Otherwise, enter your given user number)
    4. Enter the captcha code (if required)
    5. Click Next 
    6. Enter the missing characters of your password 
    7. Click Logon

  • Register for Absa Online Banking

    1. Click Log in from the top right corner of your Home screen, then click Next
    2. Click Register for Absa Online Banking
    3. If your device cannot install the Absa Banking App, click My device can’t install the app
    4. Under Digital banking registration, Enter your details, the (Captcha) code, then click Next
    5. Enter your 16-digit ATM card number, ATM PIN number, and click Next
    6. Select your billing account, enter your email address, select your title and accept the Personal Client Agreement then click Next
    7. Create a strong 5-digit PIN, confirm the PIN and click Confirm
    8. Accept the Verification request
    9. You have successfully registered for Absa Online Banking!

  • Register for Payshap on Absa Online Banking

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Transact on the side navigation
    4. Read the information, then click Register my ShapID
    5. Accept the Terms and Conditions, then click Register
    6. Your cellphone number will get pre populated, then enter your Known-as name
    7. Select an account to link to your ShapID, Accept the terms and conditions, then click Next
    8. Confirm to have Absa as your primary ShapID, then click Next
    9. Confirm your details
    10. Accept the verification request, then click Done
    11. You have successfully registered for Payshap online!

  • Deregister for Payshap on Online Banking

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click on Settings on the top right of the menu
    4. Go to My useful function section
    5. Click on Manage PayShap
    6. Click on Deregister on the ShapID you want to deregister
    7. Review the ShapID details on the side panel
    8. Click on the Deregister button to confirm deregistration
    9. You have successfully deregistered for Payshap!

  • Register a non-transactional account

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. On the drop down click Register for Absa Online Banking
    3. Under New user registration, Enter your details, the (Captcha) code, then Click Next
    4. Enter your email address and title, then click Next
    5. Tick the Personal Client Agreement checkbox, then click Next
    6. Under the Security Information section, choose a strong 5-digit PIN, confirm, then click Register
    7. Accept the Verification request sent to your registered device
    8. You have successfully registered!

How to bank securely online

  • Reset your password

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. Logon to Absa Online Banking
      Complete the Logon details
      Click next
    3. Click on Forgot password
    4. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    5. Create a new password 
      Re-enter the new password to confirm
      Please take note of the password rules when creating your new password
      Click Next to continue
    6. You have successfully reset your password

  • Reset your PIN

    1. On the Absa website home page click on Logon in the top right of the screen
    2. On the logon page click Reset pin
    3. Enter your access account number, user number and the code in the box (Captcha)
      Click Next
    4. Accept the verification request sent to your registered device
    5. Enter the missing characters of your password
    6. Enter your 16-digit ATM card number and ATM PIN
      Click Next
    7. Create a new 5-digit PIN
      Confirm the new PIN
      Click Next
    8. Your PIN is successfully reset

  • Reset your Absa Online Banking PIN and Password using AbsaID Facial Biometrics

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. On the Absa Online Banking login page, click Reset PIN
    3. Enter your Access account number, User number and the CAPTCHA code
    4. Enter your Access account number, User number, the CAPTCHA code, then click Next
    5. Accept the verification request on your device
    6. Accept the Terms and Conditions, the click Allow camera access
    7. Scan your face by looking directly at your phone
    8. Enter your new Absa Online Banking PIN, then click Confirm
    9. You have successfully reset your Absa Online Banking PIN
    10. To reset your Absa Online Banking Password, click Change my password?
    11. Enter your new Password, then Click Confirm
    12. Accept the verification request
    13. You have successfully reset your Absa Online Banking Password and PIN!

  • Temporarily lock your card

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Settings at the top of the screen
    4. Under My Card Management, click Manage next to Temporary lock 
    5. Accept the verification request,  accept temporary lock, then click Done
    6. You have successfully temporarily locked your card!

How to buy prepaid online

  • Buy prepaid electricity for a new beneficiary

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click on the Buy tab in the top left of the screen
    4. Select Prepaid electricity from the dropdown and click Buy for someone new
    5. Accept the verification request
    6. Enter the Meter number, click Search and then complete the Purchase details
    7. Click Next, view the prepaid electricity purchase details then click Confirm
    8. Accept the verification request
    9. You have successfully bought prepaid electricity!

  • Resend a prepaid electricity token

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Manage beneficiaries on the side menu
    4. Click Prepaid electricity under View and manage beneficiaries
    5. Click Resend notice on the specific beneficiary that you wish to resend
    6. From the Purchase history, find the desired transaction and click More
    7. Click Resend notice, complete the Notification details then Click Next
    8. View the Notice of purchase details and click Confirm
    9. You have successfully resent your prepaid electricity token!

How to play Lotto and PowerBall

  • Play Lotto

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click on the Lotto tab then select Lotto
    3. Play Lotto by clicking Choose numbers for Board A and Board B
    4. Choose six numbers you want to play and you can Shuffle or Reset your numbers
    5. If you want to play more boards, click Add a board
    6. Accept the Terms and Conditions and click Next
    7. Enter additional games if you wish for an extra R2.50 per board
    8. Select the number of times you would like to play your boards and click Next

How to make online payments

  • Add an Absa listed beneficiary

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click Select Beneficiaries from the side menu then click Add beneficiary
    3. Accept the verification request
    4. Select Absa listed beneficiary and complete Beneficiary details then fill in Your details
    5. Fill in the Notice of Payment details, then click Next and click Confirm
    6. You have successfully added an Absa-listed beneficiary!
       

    Note: Some institutions such as SARS, municipalities or department stores can't be paid normally because Absa has already added them as beneficiaries. These types of beneficiaries are called 'Absa listed beneficiaries'.

  • Send money to someone new using CashSend

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click on the Payments tab at the top of the screen
    4. Click CashSend, click Add beneficiary, then Accept the verification request
    5. Complete the Beneficiary and the CashSend details, then click Next
    6. Verify the CashSend details then click Confirm
    7. Accept the verification request
    8. You have successfully sent your CashSend!

  • Make an immediate payment to an existing beneficiary

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click on the Pay tab then select Pay someone new and accept the verification request
    3. Enter the Beneficiary name and the amount you would like to pay 
    4. Click on the tick box to make an Immediate Interbank Payment (IIP) 
    5. Enter your reference and your beneficiary reference
    6. Complete the Notice of payment details and click Next
    7. Click confirm to accept payment details and accept the verification request sent
    8. A Payment is a successful message and the Immediate Interbank reference number will pop up
    9. You have successfully made a payment to a beneficiary!

  • Resend a notice of payment

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Beneficiaries on the side menu
    4. On the Payments tab, select your beneficiary then click Resend notice of payment
    5. Select your payment,  then click Resend notice
    6. Fill in the details, click Next, then click Confirm
    7. Your Notice of payment has been successfully sent!

  • Resend a notice of payment to a once-off beneficiary

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click Transact on the side menu
    3. Under My useful functions, click on Transaction history then click on the My once-Off Payments tab
    4. Select the once-off beneficiary and click on Resend notice of payment
    5. Complete the Notice of payment details on the pop-out and click Next
    6. Click Confirm to verify the notice of payment details
    7. You have successfully resent a Notice of payment!

  • Make a payment using Payshap on Absa Online Banking

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Transact on the side navigation
    4. Click Pay someone new, then accept the verification request
    5. Enter the amount you would like to pay, then click Next
    6. Select ShapID, enter the beneficiaries ShapID, then search for the Bank
    7. Enter the reference, tap Next, then tap Confirm
    8. You have successfully made a payment using PayShap!­­

How to manage your accounts online

  • Add and manage recurring payments

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click Transact from the side menu
    3. Under My useful functions, click My scheduled transactions
    4. To add a recurring payment, click Add recurring payment and select New beneficiary
    5. Complete Recipient, Payment schedule and Referencing details. then click Next
    6. Confirm your details and accept the verification request
    7. Your recurring payment is scheduled successfully and click Done
    8. To delete a recurring payment, select an existing Recipient and click Edit
    9. Click View to see Recurring payment details then click Delete to delete recurring payment
    10. Click Yes, delete to confirm and your recurring payment is deleted
    11. To edit a recurring payment, select an existing Recipient and click Edit
    12. Click Edit to change the amount and Referencing details, then click Next and View details
    13. Click Confirm and accept the verification request
    14. You have successfully updated details for a recurring payment!

  • Download a bank confirmation letter

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click the Accounts tab
    4. Select the account for which the bank confirmation letter is required
    5. Click More, click Documents, then click Bank confirmation letter
    6. Accept the verification request, then click View to open your letter
    7. Click Download with an option to print or save to your computer 
    8. You have successfully downloaded your bank confirmation letter!
       

    Note:  You can also access your Bank Confirmation Letters when you click on Profile on the top right of your screen under the documents section.

  • Update your FICA status

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click on the Profile tab on the top right of the screen
    4. Click My Personal Details
    5. To update your Personal Details, click Personal Details and click upload ID copy, next to Identity Information
    6. Select the Proof of ID document type, then choose the file
    7. Click Next, then click Done
    8. To update your Residential address, click Address details, then click edit next to My Residential Address 
    9. Select the proof of Residence document type, then choose the file
    10. Click Next, then click Done
    11. You have successfully uploaded your FICA documents!
       

    Note: The following file types can be uploaded: GIF, JPEG, PDF, PNG, TIFF. The maximum file size you can upload is 2MB. If your file does not adhere to the above rules, it will not be selected and uploaded.

    After you have uploaded the documents it can take up to 48 hours before your FICA status will be updated on our system. Please note should we find the files you uploaded to be unsatisfactory, we will ask you to upload quality versions of the files.

  • Apply for a Personal Loan

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click Offers from the side menu
    3. Under Lending, click Personal Loan
    4. Choose the type of Personal Loan 
    5. Click Apply 
    6. You will be directed to the application process for a personal loan!

  • Reverse your debit order

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Select Transact on the side menu, then click My Debit Orders
    4. Select the account that was used to make the debit order payment
    5. View your debit order, select Stop and Reverse then select Reverse payment
    6. Choose the reason for the reversal, accept the disclaimer, then click Next
    7. Accept the verification request
    8. You have successfully reversed your Debit order!
       

    Note: Debit orders older than 40 days cannot be reversed on the app.

    The limit for online debit order reversal is R500. Should you need to reverse a higher amount, please email us at debitorder@absa.co.za or visit your nearest branch.

  • Order a new card reissue for an expired card

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click the Settings tab
    3. Under my card management, click manage next to Reissue cards
    4. You can receive your new card either via Courier services or you can collect at an Absa branch
    5. If you select Collect at a branch, search for the branch of your choice
      You can change your contact number and your profile will be updated with the contact number provided.
    6. Click Next
    7. Confirm if the details are correct, then click Confirm
    8. Accept the verification request, and click Confirm
    9. You have successfully ordered a new card!
       

    Note: We will send you an SMS when your new card is ready for collection at a branch. Please provide proof of identity. Remember, you can update your contact number and your profile on Absa Online.

  • Stop and replace a card

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Settings at the top of the screen
    4. Under My Card Management, click Manage next to Stop and Replace
    5. Accept the verification request
    6. Select the Reason for stopping your card and select the Replacement card type
    7. Select the Delivery method  and click Next
    8. Accept the verification request
    9. You have successfully stopped and replaced your card!

  • Stop and replace a stolen or retained card

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Click Settings on the upper right hand corner
    3. Under My card Management, Click Manage Next to Stop and replace
    4. Accept the verification request
    5. From the dropdown arrow select the card you are replacing, the reason for stopping the card, the card type, select the delivery method, and click Next
    6. Verify the details, click on Order replacement card then accept the verification request and click Done
    7. You have successfully stopped and replaced your card!

  • Manage card limits

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click the Settings tab
    4. Under my card management
    5. Click manage next to ATM and in-store limits
    6. Accept the verification request
    7. Enter your new limit, click Next, then click Confirm
    8. Accept the verification request
    9. You have successfully changed your card limit!

  • Change your online banking limit

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Settings on the top right of the screen
    4. Under My useful functions, click Online limits
    5. Accept the verification request, then change your limit and click Next
    6. Click Confirm to verify your limit change, then accept the verification request
    7. You have successfully changed your limit!
       

    Note: If all your Absa Online Banking limits are changed to zero, you will need to visit an Absa branch to reset your limits.

  • Link your accounts to your Online Banking profile

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking click on the Accounts tab,
    3. Click link account to profile on the top right of your screen to link an account to your profile
    4. Accept the verification request
    5. Select the account you want to link
    6. Click confirm
    7. You have successfully linked your accounts!
       

    Note: You can link and unlink accounts on your individual profile only. Rewards accounts or accounts where monthly fees are paid cannot be unlinked.

  • View/download bank statements

    2. Click Accounts from your dashboard
    3. Select the account you want to view or download your statement for
    4. Enter the date range for your statement
    5. To download your statement, click Download now
    6. Click Continue
    7. Your statement will download to your device

  • Place notice to withdraw money from your Notice Deposit Account

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Accounts
    4. Click the Notice Deposit account, then click Manage
    5. On the account information screen, click Withdraw funds next to Notice Details
    6. Select when you would like to receive your funds, enter the amount, then click Next
    7. Select an Account you would like the amount to be paid into, then enter a reference
    8. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions by ticking the box, then click Next
    9. Review the withdrawal details, then click Confirm
    10. Accept the verification request, then Click Done
    11. You have successfully placed a withdrawal notice!

  • Redeem your Absa Rewards in cash

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Rewards on the side menu, then click Spend
    4. Accept the verification request
    5. Select Get cash from the drop down list
    6. Select the account into which your Rewards cash is to be paid, enter the amount, then click Next
    7. Click Confirm
    8. You have successfully redeemed your Rewards!

  • Download a tax certificate

    1. Click Log in on the top right corner of your Home screen
    2. Log in to Absa Online Banking
    3. Click Menu on the top left of your screen, then click Settings
    4. Scroll down and select Tax certificates
    5. Select tax year, then tax certificate type, click View tax certificate
    6. A pop-up will appear, click View tax certificate to accept charges  
    7. Download or print your tax certificate
