Register for Absa Cellphone Banking

Log in to Absa Cellphone Banking

Reset your PIN
Dial *120*2272# and enter your LAST KNOWN 5-digit PIN

Tap Send, then select option 1 to Reset your PIN

Tap Send, then enter your ID/Passport number

Tap Send, then enter a new 5-digit PIN and tap Send

You have successfully reset your PIN!

Register for Absa Cellphone Banking
Add the Absa Cellphone Banking number *120*2272# to your contacts

Dial the Absa Cellphone Banking number from your contact list

Select 1 to accept the terms and conditions and tap Send

Enter your SA ID number or your passport number and tap Send

Enter your 5-digit numeric PIN and tap Send

You have successfully registered

Dial the Absa Cellphone Banking number *120*2272#

Enter your 5-digit PIN and tap Send

You will be taken directly to the Absa Cellphone Banking menu

Enter the digit of the service you need and tap Send

How to make online payments

Make a third-party payment

Send money (CashSend)

Make a third-party payment
Dial *120*2272# and enter your 5-digit PIN

Select option 3 for Payments, then tap Send

Select 2 for Existing beneficiaries, then tap Send

Select the beneficiary you would like to pay, then tap Send

Select the account you want to make the payment from, then tap Send

Enter the amount to pay, then tap Send

Enter the beneficiary reference, then tap Send

Select an option to send proof of payment to, then tap Send

Confirm the payment details, select 1 to Accept, then tap Send

You have successfully made a third-party payment!

Note: There is a daily limit of R5 000 and a monthly limit of R10 000 for third party payments. To add a third-party beneficiary to your Cellphone Banking please visit your nearest Absa branch.

Send money (CashSend)
Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN

Select 5 to proceed, then tap Send

Select 1 Send Cash, then tap Send

Select 2 to send to a new beneficiary, then tap Send

Enter the recipient’s cellphone number, then tap Send

Enter the recipient’s name, then tap Send

Select the account you wish to debit, then tap Send

Enter the amount you wish to send, then tap Send

Enter the 6-digit code your recipient will use to withdraw from an Absa ATM, then tap Send

Confirm the transaction by selecting 1, then tap Send

Send the access code and money to your recipient

You have successfully sent money!

Buy prepaid electricity

Resend a prepaid electricity token

Buy prepaid electricity
Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN

Select 2 for Prepaid, then tap Send2

Select 2 for Electricity, then tap Send

Select 2 for New beneficiary, then tap Send

Enter the meter number, then tap Send

Enter the recipient’s name, then tap Send

Enter the amount, then tap Send

Select the account you wish to debit, then tap Send

Select 1 to Continue, then tap Send

Select 1 to Accept transaction, then tap Send

Select the option where you would like to send the prepaid token, then tap Send

You have successfully purchased electricity!

Note: You can purchase a prepaid minimum amount of R30 to a maximum of R1 000 per day. A prepaid maximum amount of R2 000 can be purchased per month.

Select 2 for Prepaid, then tap Send

Select 2 for Electricity, then tap Send

Select option 3 to Resend the token, then tap Send

Select the beneficiary you wish to resend the token to, then tap Send

Select the applicable transaction, then tap Send

Select the cellphone number you wish to resend the token to, then tap Send

You have successfully resent a prepaid electricity token!

View your account balance

Redeem your Absa Rewards in cash

Resend proof of payment

View your account balance
Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN

Select 1 on the main menu for Balances, then tap Send

Select 1 for Balances, then tap Send

Select the number your account is linked to, then tap Send

Your balance will be displayed!

Redeem your Absa Rewards in cash
Dial *120*2272#, and enter your 5-digit PIN

Select 8 for Other Services

Select 1 for Absa Rewards, then tap Send

Select 1 to Redeem Cash, then tap Send

Select the number associated with the account you want to credit, then tap Send

Enter the amount you want to redeem, then tap Send

Select 1 to confirm your transaction

Select 1 to accept then tap Send

You have successfully redeemed your cash rewards!

Select option 3 for Payments, then tap Send

Select 4 to Manage payments, then tap Send

Select 2 to Resend proof of payment, then tap Send

Select the beneficiary you want to resend proof of payment to then tap Send

Select the transaction, tap Send

Select an option to send proof of payment, then tap Send

Select an option to Confirm your cellphone number, then Tap Send

You have successfully resent a proof of payment!
